NMNGA AND NGAUS AWARD LEVELS
You have many options to recognize your outstanding performers. NMNGA level awards are at the state level. NGAUS level awards are at the national level.
Nominations are collected and selected winners will be notified by the NMNGA Board of Directors.
STATE LEVEL AWARDS
New Mexico based awards recognizing those who demonstrated outstanding professionalism, duty performance, unit contributions, New Mexico National Guard contributions (special assignments, duties, etc.), community involvement, and NMNGA participation throughout calendar year should be considered for this award.
NATIONAL LEVEL AWARDS
The NGAUS Awards Program recognizes outstanding National Guard men and women, as well as individuals and organizations outside of the Guard, who have made significant efforts to help advance NGAUS and its mission.

LTG (RET) ED BACA OUTSTANDING COMPANY GRADE OFFICERÂ OF THE YEAR AWARD
Company Grade Officers who demonstrated outstanding professionalism, duty performance, unit contributions, New Mexico National Guard contributions (special assignments, duties, etc.), community involvement, and NMNGA participation throughout calendar year should be considered for this award.
In addition to a physical award, the selected recipient will be awarded a NGAUS/NMNGA digital life membership (valued at $1750).
MG (RET) TOM TAYLOR OUTSTANDING SECOND LIEUTENANT OF THE YEAR AWARD
Second Lieutenants who demonstrated outstanding professionalism, duty performance, unit contributions, New Mexico National Guard contributions (special assignments, duties, etc.), community involvement, and NMNGA participation throughout calendar year should be considered for this award.
In addition to a physical award, the chosen recipient will be awarded a NGAUS/NMNGA digital life membership (valued at $1750).
CW5 (RET) SAL SOTO OUTSTANDING WARRANT OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Warrant Officers who demonstrated outstanding professionalism, duty performance, unit contributions, New Mexico National Guard contributions (special assignments, duties, etc.), community involvement, and NMNGA participation throughout calendar year 2023 should be considered for this award.
In addition to a physical award, the chosen recipient will be awarded a NGAUS/NMNGA digital life membership (valued at $1750).

EAGLE RISING AWARD FOR WARRANT OFFICERS
This award was established to annually recognize the achievements and dedicated service of Army National Guard Warrant Officers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, technical skills, and professionalism in their services to country and community.

Nominees for this award are selected from the applications submitted for the NMNGA CW5 (Ret) Sal Soto Outstanding Warrant Officer of the Year Award.
THEODORE ROOSEVELT LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR COMPANY GRADE OFFICERS
This award was established to annually recognize the achievements and dedicated service of Army and Air National Guard junior officers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and professionalism in their services to country and community.
Nominees for this award are selected from the applications submitted for the NMNGA LTG (Ret) Ed Baca Outstanding Company Grade Officer of the Year Award
Each state or territory may submit no more than one ANG and one ARNG nomination each year.
VALLEY FORGE CROSS FOR HEROISM
The Valley Forge Cross is presented to members of the National Guard who have distinguished themselves by performing acts of heroism that otherwise might not be recognized due to the National Guard’s peacetime status.
Valley Forge Certificate may be awarded at the state/local level in lieu of the Valley Forge Cross award.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
This award was created based upon a perceived need for an additional award that would specifically recognize individuals for significant contributions to the United States Government, the Armed Forces of the United States or NGAUS.
Meritorious Service Certificate may be awarded at the state/local level in lieu of the Meritorious Service Award.
